Daniel Carcillo has knee surgery

CHICAGO -- Chicago Blackhawks forward Daniel Carcillo faces a six-month recovery after undergoing knee surgery, the team announced on Tuesday.

"The procedure went very well and he will begin rehabilitation this afternoon. We anticipate a full recovery with him returning to competitive hockey in six months," team physician Dr. Michael Terry said.

Carcillo was injured on Jan. 2 when he checked Edmonton Oilers defenseman Tom Gilbert into the end boards. Carcillo was called for boarding, ...
