Cubs put Ian Stewart on DL

CHICAGO -- Among the things Chicago Cubs third baseman Ian Stewart could find out when his left wrist is examined on Monday is that it could be the end of his season.

Stewart said Thursday that surgery on the injury, which has lingered for more than a year, is a possibility. He was put on the disabled list Wednesday night and infielder Luis Valbuena has replaced him on the roster.
