Harold Baines changes role

CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox announced changes to the coaching staff Tuesday, as Harold Baines was moved to a new position while Daryl Boston and Bobby Thigpen were added to the fold.

Baines was appointed to the newly created position of assistant hitting coach where he will work alongside regular hitting coach Jeff Manto. Boston was promoted to the first-base coaching box after spending the past 12 seasons as the club's minor league outfield coordinator.
