Henry Melton hopeful of Bears deal

CHICAGO -- Chicago Bears Pro Bowl defensive tackle Henry Melton said Friday he remains optimistic the two sides can still finalize a deal before the start of free agency.

Melton and the Bears failed to reach an agreement on a contract extension during the regular season, and he is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent after his original rookie contract expired following the 2012 season.
