Frank Thomas confident of '14 entry

CHICAGO -- Former Chicago White Sox slugger Frank Thomas made his case for Hall of Fame enshrinement in 2014 Saturday while blasting some players that flourished in the so-called steroid era.

Thomas, who will be on the Hall of Fame ballot for the first time later this year, spoke candidly to reporters after taking part in an open-microphone seminar at SoxFest, the White Sox's annual fan convention.
