Chris Sale, White Sox reach deal

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Chicago White Sox and left-hander Chris Sale have agreed on a five-year deal worth $32.5 million, with two option years that could bring the contract to $60 million, the team announced Thursday.

Sale will receive $32.5 million guaranteed over the first five years of the deal, with club options for the next two years. The White Sox hold options for 2018 at $12.5 million and for 2019 at $13.5 million. If either option is declined, Sale will receive a $1 million ...
