Cubs sign No. 2 pick Kris Bryant

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs announced Friday they signed No. 2 overall draft pick Kris Bryant, who took batting practice with the team before their game against the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field.

A source told ESPNChicago.com on Wednesday that Bryant's signing bonus is $6.7 million, the highest for a draft pick in this year's class.

The 21-year-old third baseman led the nation with 31 home runs and batted .329 with 62 RBIs for the University of San Diego last season.
