Chicago Cubs interview Brad Ausmus

Former major league catcher Brad Ausmus interviewed with the Chicago Cubs for their vacant managerial position on Friday.

Ausmus, 44, is the special assistant to baseball operations for the San Diego Padres, a position he was hired for when current Cubs general manager Jed Hoyer was the GM in San Diego.

Ausmus is the sixth known candidate to interview for the Cubs job, joining AJ Hinch, Manny Acta, Dave Martinez, Eric Wedge and Rick Renteria. Boston Red Sox coach Torey Lovullo ...
