9. Mark Prior

The Cubs selected him with the No. 2 overall pick of the 2000 draft. Praised for his mechanics, Prior was a dominant force for a couple of seasons. His best season was 2003, when he went 18-6 with a 2.43 ERA, and he was one of the three main pitching components of the 2003 and '04 Cubs (with Kerry Wood and Carlos Zambrano).
