CHICAGO -- Chicago White Sox outfielder Carlos Quentin, who has been out since Aug. 20 because of a bruised AC joint in his right shoulder, was reinstated from the 15-day disabled list Monday.

He went 0-for-2 with a strikeout after entering the White Sox's 14-4 loss to Detroit as a pinch hitter for designated hitter Alex Rios in the seventh inning.

Quentin entered Monday batting .255 this season with 31 doubles, 24 home runs and 77 RBIs. The All-Star was hurt when he rolled over on his shoulder after making a running catch in shallow right field against the Texas Rangers.

The complete lineup for Monday's game: Juan Pierre LF, Alexei Ramirez SS, Paul Konerko 1B, A.J. Pierzynski C, Viciedo RF, Rios DH, Alejandro De Aza CF, Brent Morel 3B, Gordon Beckham 2B. John Danks pitches.
