CHICAGO -- Houston Astros right-hander Bud Norris has been activated from the disabled list and is scheduled to start Friday against the Chicago Cubs.

Norris was sidelined with a sprained left knee. He began the day with a 5-4 record and a 4.81 ERA in 13 starts this season.

The Astros optioned left-hander Xavier Cedeno to Triple-A Oklahoma City following Thursday night's 7-3 loss to San Diego, clearing a roster spot for Norris.
