The Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Alejandro De Aza on the disabled list with bruised left ribs and recalled outfielder Jordan Danks from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.

De Aza was injured on Aug. 17 against the Kansas City Royals and has missed the past three games. The DL stint will be retroactive to Aug. 18.

De Aza, the Sox's leadoff hitter, is batting .281 with 6 home runs and 44 RBIs and leads the team in runs (73) and stolen bases (21).

This will be the second stint with the White Sox for the 26-year-old Danks. He batted .265 in 29 games with the White Sox before he was optioned back to Charlotte on Aug. 12. He was hitting .317 and had reached base in 30 consecutive games at the time of his recall.
