CLEVELAND -- Still with the Chicago White Sox after the non-waiver trade deadline passed, Alex Rios is back in the lineup on Wednesday after injuring his left foot against the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday.
X-rays taken Tuesday showed a contusion in the foot, but Rios will play Wednesday against the Indians, batting third.
Rios, who was the subject of trade rumors leading into Wednesday's deadline, was removed from Tuesday's game in the eighth inning, one pitch after he fouled a ball off his foot.
The White Sox have had to manage a host of injuries to a number of key players this season, so when Rios left the game, manager Robin Ventura felt as though it was just more bad luck for his club.
"You just shake your head," Ventura said. "It's like one thing after another with guys."
