Rose: MJ visit 'means a lot'

Derrick Rose appreciated Michael Jordan's congratulations for his former team on Wednesday after the Chicago Bulls defeated the Charlotte Bobcats to earn the final playoff spot in the East.

"I was surprised he was even there," Rose said Thursday on "The Scott Van Pelt Show" on ESPN 1000. "I was coming out of the shower, and he was in [the locker room] congratulating us and saying good luck to us. For him to do that means a lot because to me that's the best player in the world. To almost everybody he's a legend in the NBA, and he played for this organization. You hear about him every day so it meant a lot coming from him."

Jordan is the Bobcats' majority owner.

The Bulls begin their first-round playoff series against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday.
