Wildcats QB Dan Persa questionable

Northwestern senior quarterback Dan Persa is questionable for this week's game against Indiana with turf toe.

Persa left Saturday's loss to Penn State midway through the fourth quarter with an injury to his left foot. Coach Pat Fitzgerald said Monday the senior is wearing a walking boot.

Persa missed Northwestern's first three games while rehabbing the surgically repaired Achilles tendon in his right leg. He left an Oct. 1 game against Illinois after aggravating the Achilles but returned the next week against Michigan.

Persa has completed 98 of 131 passes for 990 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions. Kain Colter or Trevor Siemian would step in at quarterback at Indiana if Persa cannot play.
