Lemont (Ill.) High School junior offensive tackle Ethan Pocic committed to LSU on Tuesday.

Pocic, a 6-foot-6, 285-pound tackle, is ranked No. 72 overall in the ESPN 150 and is No. 4 offensive tackle. He is LSU's first Class of 2013 ESPN 150 recruit. He had offers from more than 25 BCS schools. He visited LSU over the weekend.

"Right when I left, I knew it was the place," Pocic wrote in a text. "I just wanted to talk it over with my parents and coaches."

Lemont coach Eric Michaelsen was happy for Pocic.

"It's a happy time for him," Michaelsen said. "For us, we want him to be able to go to somewhere that will take care of him and a place for him to be happy. For him, those are things he wanted to make sure he thought through."

Pocic's older brother, Graham Pocic, will be a senior center at Illinois next season. Graham recently was named to the Rimington Award watch list.

"I think Ethan was his own person," Michaelsen said. "His brother was going to be gone from Illinois. I think at the same time he listened to his brother. I think that helped."

Pocic was named to the ESPNChicago.com all-area team as a junior and helped Lemont to the Class 6A semifinals.

"Ethan is a big, physical lineman with excellent footwork," Michaelsen said. "He is a hard worker and team leader."

LSU now has 14 Class of 2013 commitments.
