DePaul coach Oliver Purnell announced the additions of associate head coach Ron Bradley, assistants Billy Garrett and Kevin Nickelberry, director of basketball operations Josh Postorino, and director of community, corporate and professional relations David Booth to his staff on Wednesday.
Despite campaigning by some Chicago Public League coaches, interim head coach Tracy Webster was not retained.
"After a lot of careful analysis and thought, I believe I've put together a staff that will help me build a tremendous program here at DePaul," Purnell said in a statement. "This staff will provide the energy, the work ethic, the expertise and the desire that it takes to establish a program at a high level."
Garrett and Booth were retained from last season's DePaul staff, and both have local Chicago ties. Garrett coached at Providence St. Mel High School from 1994 to 2000 and often has recruited area players while he was an assistant at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, New Mexico, Iowa, Seton Hall and Siena. Booth, originally from Peoria, played at DePaul.
Purnell's other staff members have coached with him before.
Bradley was an associate head coach for Purnell for seven years at Clemson. He also has 29 years of Division I coaching experience. Before Clemson, he was the head coach at Radford for 11 seasons.
Postorino played for Purnell at Dayton and spent time as an assistant and director of operations for him at Dayton and Clemson.
Nickelberry, who is also a former Clemson assistant and recruiting coordinator for Purnell, was most recently the head coach at Hampton. He resigned in 2009 after going 50-44 in three seasons.
