NHL to hold hearing on Hossa's hit

CHICAGO -- Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville confirmed the NHL will hold a hearing Sunday afternoon on whether to suspend Marian Hossa for his Game 5 hit on the Nashville Predators' Dan Hamhuis.

There is no word on when the league's decision will be announced, but by rule any punishment must be handed out before Monday's Game 6 in Nashville.

Hossa was whistled after he appeared to shove the Predators' defenseman from behind into the endboards, drawing a five-minute major for boarding.

Hossa spent the final minute of regulation and nearly all of overtime in the penalty box before his game-winning goal gave the Hawks a 5-4 win and a 3-2 series lead.
