Starting wide receiver Devin Hester left the game early in the second quarter after being sandwiched by Detroit defenders William James and Louis Delmas on a short 2-yard reception near the goal line. Hester was taken back to the locker room, and was not made available to the media after the game.
Bears head coach Lovie Smith was predictably vague when it came to the injury.
"Devin Hester has a shoulder injury," said Smith. "I don't know the extent, but we'll continue to evaluate [it] and then be able to give more information."
Considering the Bears are on a bye week, that information might not be so forthcoming.
Hester wasn't the only player banged up. Running back Adrian Peterson suffered a sprained right knee, according to a source close to the player. Knee sprains usually take a few weeks to heal.
Receiver Johnny Knox left the game with a shin injury that isn't believed to be serious, while cornerback Zack Bowman sustained a stinger late in the fourth quarter. Both Knox and Bowman should be fine.
