Marion Barber likely out for Falcons

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears running back Marion Barber (calf) sat out practice Thursday for the second consecutive day and is unlikely to play in the regular season opener against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Kahlil Bell is expected to assume the role of the primary backup to starter Matt Forte in Barber's absence.

Defensive end Corey Wootton (knee) continued to be limited in practice, but defensive tackle Anthony Adams (calf) and receiver Sam Hurd (ankle) both had full participation on Thursday after being limited the day before.

Adams and Hurd were sidelined for much of the preseason with their respective injuries.
