Bears interview Jason Licht for GM
CHICAGO -- New England Patriots director of pro personnel Jason Licht interviewed on Monday for the Chicago Bears general manager position that has been vacant since the club severed ties with Jerry Angelo on Jan. 3 after 11 seasons.

Licht is one of four candidates the Bears were granted permission to speak with regarding the general manager opening. The other three are Kansas City Chiefs director of college scouting Phil Emery, San Diego Chargers director of player personnel Jimmy Raye and New York Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross.
Licht is currently in his second stint with the Patriots, serving as their director of pro personnel since 2009. He was a college and national scout for New England from 1999-2001 then bumped up to assistant director of player personnel for the 2002 season. Besides New England, Licht has made stops in Miami, Carolina, Philadelphia and Arizona. While with the Eagles, Licht held various titles including assistant director of player personnel and vice president of player personnel.
The team has officially stated that current director of player personnel Tim Ruskell remains under consideration for the GM job.Jeff Dickerson covers the Bears for ESPNChicago.com and ESPN 1000.
