Emery will follow that up with more interviews over the weekend. Houston Texans offensive coordinator Rick Dennison will be seen Friday, according to a league source. A 20-year coaching veteran, Clements, 59, became offensive coordinator of the Packers this season after spending the previous six years as the club's quarterbacks coach.
Clements started three years at quarterback for Notre Dame, where he led the Irish to a national championship in 1973, and played 12 seasons in the Canadian Football League.
Clements received a law degree in 1986 from Notre Dame and practiced law for five years before joining the Irish as an assistant. Clements has also served as quarterbacks coach for the New Orleans Saints (1997-99), Kansas City Chiefs (2000), Pittsburgh Steelers (2001-03) and as offensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills (2004-05).
Working with Clements, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers set the NFL single-season record for passer rating (122.5) in 2011, in addition to passing for 17,037 yards during his first four years as a starter.
Clements also played a key role in the development of Seattle Seahawks backup quarterback Matt Flynn, a former seventh-round pick. As a member of the Packers, he threw for 480 yards and six touchdowns in the 2011 regular-season finale.
