Patrick Kane's first call after the Chicago Blackhawks qualified for the Stanley Cup playoffs on Sunday wasn't to teammates or family or to get extra tickets for the first-round series against the Vancouver Canucks.
"Right after the Minnesota game," Kane explained on Monday. "It was my first phone call, to my barber, and he made the trip downtown, opened up the shop and gave me a quick haircut."
The mullet is back.
Kane debuted the style last year during the postseason, and the Hawks went on to win their first Stanley Cup in 49 years. So there was no tempting fate this year.
"It's back," said. "Hopefully I didn't cut it for a short stint. Hopefully it's a long time."
