Crawford was injured when he made a right leg save on a shot by the Panthers' Marcel Goc from the slot with 6:32 left in the first period. Crawford bent over after the save and requested for the official to call time. The game was stopped with 6:15 remaining in the period. After being examined by the Blackhawks' training staff, Crawford skated slowly off the ice with the help of two people and went to the team's locker room.
"I haven't really talked to the doctors, but I don't think it's too serious," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. "But when it's a goalie, it's a little more serious than other players because you know how important he is to our team."
Quenneville said he will have a better assessment of Crawford on Monday.
Crawford entered the game with a 17-6-3 record, a 2.50 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage. He has played in 27 of the team's 32 games this season.
Blackhawks rookie goaltender Antti Raanta replaced Crawford and stopped 29 of 31 shots in the 6-2 win.
