CHICAGO -- Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw will miss his second consecutive contest against the Minnesota Wild in Game 3 of their Western Conference second-round series Tuesday due to a lower-body injury, coach Joel Quenneville said Monday.
Quenneville had previously said Shaw was likely to play in Game 3. Quenneville said Shaw did not have a setback.
"We still think he'll be going the next part of this this trip, could play Friday [in Game 4] or next game," Quenneville said prior to leaving for Minnesota on Monday afternoon.
Shaw was injured after taking a hit from Wild defenseman Clayton Stoner in the first period during Game 1 on Friday. Shaw was hit into the boards and fell to the ice. He limped off the ice and went to the dressing room. He did not return for the remainder of the game.
Shaw has two goals, two assists, a zero rating and has averaged 15:54 of ice time in seven playoff games this season. He had 20 goals, 19 assists and a plus-12 rating in 80 regular-season games.
The Blackhawks lead the series, 2-0.
