Forwards Marian Hossa and Patrick Kane will make their preseason debuts Wednesday when the Blackhawks play the Detroit Red Wings in Chicago.

Kane will line up between Hossa and Andrew Brunette, as coach Joel Quenneville confirmed the team will play him at center in the preseason. Kane hasn't played in a game as he recovers from offseason wrist surgery.

Hossa had a late start to training camp due to the birth of his daughter while also mourning the loss of his close friend, Pavol Demitra, who died in a plane crash in Russia earlier this month.

Corey Crawford will start in goal and play the entire game. Highly touted forward prospect Brandon Saad will play in his team-high fifth preseason game.

The Blackhawks are 1-3 in exhibition play with three games left before the season opener on Oct. 7 in Dallas.
