CHICAGO -- Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford missed another practice Tuesday.

On Monday, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said Crawford "should be out there and fine" for practice on Tuesday.

"We had the luxury of scheduling this week (with) the added days to make sure we don't have to keep dealing with this and get it right," Quenneville said Tuesday.

Crawford has a minor lower body injury, according to Quenneville, and that could be related to a groin problem he encountered at the end of training camp.

"We anticipate him getting on the ice Wednesday. Should be all right," Quenneville said.

Chicago hosts the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday. Ben Smith (concussion) and Viktor Stalberg (leg) are getting closer to returning from injury as well. "He's close," Quenneville said of Smith. "He skated well and looked like he had the pace. He's real close to getting in a game."

Crawford started both games against the Dallas Stars over the weekend, going 1-1.

ESPNChicago.com originally reported that Arizona State club goalie Scott Czarnik was taking Crawford's place in practice on Tuesday as he did Monday, but the Blackhawks said it was a different fill-in.
