Hurt Brent Seabrook day to day

CHICAGO -- Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook left Sunday's 6-3 win against the Edmonton Oilers in the second period after falling down hard against the end boards behind the Oilers' net.

Seabrook limped off the ice favoring his left leg and headed for the dressing room. The Hawks declared him out for the rest of the night due to a "lower-body injury."

"(Brent Seabrook is) day to day right now," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said after the game. "We'll know more in the morning. We'll see how he presents."

Seabrook has a goal and six assists in 18 games this season.

"(In the absence of Brent Seabrook) there's a void in all the quality ice time in all situations," Quenneville said. "He absorbs those type of minutes. All of a sudden everyone's coming in with a little more responsibility. I thought we did well without him for the second half of this game."
