CHICAGO -- Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw had a hearing Monday for an incident with Phoenix goaltender Mike Smith in his team's 4-3 overtime win Saturday.

The league must decide Shaw's fate before the next game, which is Tuesday at the United Center. According to a league source, the decision won't come until Tuesday.

Shaw was assessed a five-minute major for charging and a game misconduct at 7:11 of the second period after making contact with Smith behind the Phoenix net on Saturday. The goaltender was down for several minutes but was able to finish the game.

A game misconduct automatically earns a review of the play with the league to determine if supplemental discipline will be assessed to Shaw. Shaw will also be fined at least $200.
