Craig MacTavish leaves Wolves

Chicago Wolves coach Craig MacTavish has left the Vancouver Canucks organization to pursue other opportunities, the organization announced on Monday.

MacTavish led the Wolves to a 42-27-4-3 and the AHL's Midwest Division title in his one and only season in Chicago. The Wolves lost to the San Antonio Rampage in the Western Conference quarterfinals.

"The Chicago Wolves would like to thank Craig for all his contributions to the Wolves organization this past year," Wolves general manager Wendell Young said in a statement. "We would also like to wish him and his family the best on his future endeavors."

MacTavish, 53, had a 301-252-47-56 record over eight seasons as coach of the Edmonton Oilers after a playing career that spanned 17 seasons with the Boston Bruins, Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers and St. Louis Blues.
