Rostislav Olesz sent to Rockford

The Chicago Blackhawks assigned center Rostislav Olesz to the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL on Thursday.

Olesz, 27, hasn't played since last season due to a lower-body injury. He played six games for the Blackhawks and 50 games for the IceHogs last season.

Olesz has 132 points, including 57 goals and 75 assists, in 355 career NHL games.

Olesz is making $4 million this season with a cap hit of $3.125 million. He will make $4.25 million next season with a cap hit of $3.125 million before becoming an unrestricted free agent.
