Jim Hendry became general manager in July and Dusty Baker was hired in November as the Cubs revamped their front office. Mark Prior also made his debut. The Bears lost a divisional playoff game to the Eagles on the same day Michael Jordan faced the Bulls for the first time in an enemy uniform. The Bulls parted ways with Jerry Krause as John Paxson became GM.
