Is Jay Cutler the franchise quarterback Bears fans had been hoping for since Sid Luckman? That was the feeling when Jerry Angelo traded for him on April 3. The results so far have been mixed. The year started off with the Blackhawks hosting the Red Wings at Wrigley Field in the Winter Classic. The Bulls and Celtics engaged in one of the greatest playoff series ever. The Celtics won, but not before the Bulls pulled out a triple-OT 128-127 win in Game 6. Michael Jordan was inducted in the Hall of Fame and Chicago lost its bid for the Olympics. Mark Buehrle threw a perfect game on the South Side while Milton Bradley had problems on the North Side. And oh yeah, ESPNChicago.com became ESPN's first local website with its launch in April.
