Krzyzewski was among 40 coaches who took in Simeon's open gym Tuesday. DePaul coach Oliver Purnell, Illinois coach Bruce Weber, Kansas coach Bill Self, Michigan State coach Tom Izzo, North Carolina coach Roy Williams, Ohio State coach Thad Matta and Texas A&M coach Billy Kennedy were among the coaches in attendance.
"It was crazy," Simeon coach Rob Smith said of all of the coaches. "It's something I've never been around in my years of coaching."
Krzyzewski and his assistants, Jeff Capel and Steve Wojciechowski, took a limousine service from the airport. North Carolina was the only other program to bring along three coaches to the open gym. Illinois had assistant coach Jerrance Howard join Weber.
Despite all of the important eyes watching, Smith thought his players performed well. Outside of Parker, junior point guard Jaylon Tate and junior forward Kendall Pollard also drew attention from the coaches.
"The kids played really well," Smith said. "They played within themselves. Guys didn't do anything they couldn't do."
Smith tried to interact with as many of the coaches as possible.

"It's a lot of people moving around (in) here," Smith said. "They're trying to get to know me and asking about players. I thought it was great."
Smith also said there was nothing new in Parker's recruitment. He's still pretty wide open.
"It's still early on," Smith said.
