MLB suspends White Sox's Dye two games
Major League Baseball announced Friday that White Sox outfielder Jermaine Dye will be suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount for his inappropriate actions Wednesday in Cleveland.
After home plate umpire Mike DiMuro called Dye out on strikes to end the sixth inning, Dye flipped his bat, argued with DiMuro and slammed his helmet on the ground. The helmet bounced off the ground and hit DiMuro. Dye was ejected, as was manager Ozzie Guillen, who yelled from the dugout.
Unless appealed, Dye's suspension is scheduled to begin tonight, when the White Sox play the Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.
