Saturday, February 24, 2001 Earnhardt: "Keep on Running" Associated Press MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. -- Less than a week after his death, Dale Earnhardt has been honored with an upbeat song in tribute to the racing legend. "Keep on Running" by Travis Wammack was released Tuesday and is getting play on northwest Alabama radio stations. Wammack, of Muscle Shoals, wrote the four-minute song Monday with producer Donnie Gullett, Gullett's brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Vanessa Gullett, and Greg Matthews of Decatur. Donnie Gullett, a racing fan, said he wanted to record a song that reflected the life of Earnhardt, who died Sunday in a crash on the last lap of the Daytona 500. "It's not a cry-in-your-beer song," Gullett said. "Earnhardt was known as a standup, in-your-face guy, and the song sort of exemplifies that."
