Dec. 14, 1967

In his only season with Washington, Vince Lombardi gets his last win as an NFL coach, as the Redskins defeat the New Orleans Saints, 17-14, in Washington in the next-to-last game of the season. The victory guarantees Lombardi a winning season in all 10 years of his coaching career, with the first nine coming with the Green Bay Packers.

While Lombardi will lose his final game the next week, the Redskins still will finish with a 7-5-2 record, their first winning season in 14 seasons.

On Sept. 3, 1970, Lombardi will die of cancer. He will finish with a career record of 105-36-5, including a 9-1 postseason record with the Packers.
