The Big Shootout
Dec. 6, 1969: It was all there for No. 2 Arkansas: a season-ending home game against archrival No. 1 Texas, a national TV audience and President Nixon in the stands. The Hogs led 14-8 in the fourth quarter. They pinned the Longhorns on fourth-and-3 on the Texas 43. But Texas -- Wishbone Texas -- threw deep. James Street fired a perfect strike to tight end Randy Peschel for 51 yards to the Arkansas 13. Two plays later, the Horns scored to win 15-14. Hogs coach/icon Frank Broyles, 85, hasn't seen the replay yet.
