Louisville will receive a bid to the Russell Athletic Bowl if the Cardinals defeat Cincinnati on Thursday, a source told ESPN's Brett McMurphy.

The No. 19 Cardinals (10-1) can only share the American Athletic Conference if UCF loses to SMU on Saturday and can't earn the league's automatic BCS bid. If Louisville loses to Cincinnati, it's unknown what the Cardinals' bowl destination would be.

The Russell Athletic Bowl is Dec. 28 in Orlando, Fla., pitting the AAC against a team from the Atlantic Coast Conference.
