Alabama suspends 2 for Sugar Bowl
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- No. 3-ranked Alabama will enter the Allstate Sugar Bowl against No. 11 Oklahoma without outside linebacker Xzavier Dickson, the school announced Thursday night.
Backup freshman running back Alvin Kamara was suspended as well. The former four-star prospect hasn't played this season.
Dickson, meanwhile, has been a consistent contributor on a Tide defense that ranks in the top 15 nationally in every major statistical category. The 6-foot-3, 265-pound Georgia native has 13 tackles, two tackles for loss and one sack at the Jack linebacker position, where he splits time with Denzel Devall.
Kamara was relegated to the scout team in his first year on campus. He missed a week of practice in November and did not make an appearance against LSU because of "behavioral reasons," according to coach Nick Saban.
