Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller is expected to undergo minor surgery on his throwing shoulder Friday, The Columbus Dispatch reported, citing sources close to the Buckeyes program.

According to the newspaper, the arthroscopic procedure on his right shoulder likely will limit Miller's activity in spring practice, which starts March 4.

Miller completed 162-of-255 passes for 2,094 yards and 24 touchdowns this past season for Ohio State, leading the Buckeyes to the Discover Orange Bowl, where they lost to Clemson.

Sources told the Dispatch that Miller's shoulder has bothered him since that game, and a decision was made to have the surgery.
