Houston WR Demarcus Ayers entering the NFL draft after best season

After the best season of his college career, Houston wide receiver Demarcus Ayers has decided to forgo his senior season and enter the NFL draft.

"It was a very tough decision," Ayers said, according to the Houston Chronicle. "Speaking to my family and everybody [Thursday] morning, everybody let me know, "D.A., go out with a bang.'"

He did that for 13-1 Houston. Ayers had nine catches for 82 yards and threw for a touchdown in the Cougars' 38-24 win over Florida State in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

Ayers had a career-high 98 catches for 1,222 yards and six touchdowns this season.

"Man, it's been a long road, a long journey and I'm proud," Ayers said, according to the Chronicle.
