Elijah Thomas transferring from Texas A&M to Clemson

Texas A&M freshman big man Elijah Thomas, a Top-50 player coming out of high school, has decided to transfer to Clemson.

"I chose Clemson because of the opportunities at hand to better myself in a great conference," Thomas told ESPN. "Also, the history and the players who played at Clemson were very successful, so the chance to be a part of that makes me want to work hard and win at Clemson."

Thomas also visited Nebraska and Arizona State before making his decision to go to Clemson. The 6-foot-9, 235-pound Thomas was ranked by ESPN as No. 31 in the country coming out of Lancaster (Texas) High School and was a part of a heralded recruiting class that included big man Tyler Davis (ESPN No. 27) and wings DJ Hogg (No. 35) and Admon Gilder (No. 69). However, Thomas was hurt in the preseason and was averaging 3.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in his brief time at Texas A&M.
