Jerry Kill expected to coach Saturday
MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota coach Jerry Kill has not yet returned to the team following a seizure on the sideline at the end of the Gophers' last game.
Defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys, however, says he still expects Kill to coach the team for Saturday's game against Miami of Ohio and that he'd be "surprised" if he's not there.
Claeys said Wednesday he spoke with Kill for 40 minutes about the game plan the night before. Claeys said Kill remained hospitalized, but that he sounded "roaring and ready to go."
Claeys has visited Kill a few times, but not for long because the coach is concerned about getting the team properly prepared for the game. Claeys says "there will be hell to pay when he gets back" if that doesn't happen.
