QB Clint Trickett gets start for FSU

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Florida State freshman backup quarterback Clint Trickett started for the Seminoles in place of injured starter EJ Manuel against Clemson.

Trickett was 24 of 38 for 336 yards, three touchdowns and an interceptions in the team's 35-30 loss to the Tigers.

Florida State had planned to see how Manuel performed in warmups, but he did not warm up. He is currently getting treatment for his left, non-throwing shoulder, which he injured last week in the game against top-ranked Oklahoma. Manuel did not practice at all this week.

Trickett relieved Manuel in the third quarter last weekend. He threw a touchdown to Rashad Greene and finished 7 of 15 for 134 yards.
