Chadron St. reports possible violations
CHADRON, Neb. -- Chadron State is working with the NCAA on possible violations in its athletic program tied to football fundraising, the school said Thursday.
The Division II school said it has self-reported its concerns to the NCAA and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Details were not disclosed, but the school said it involved "fundraising activities and various financial transactions not part of the Chadron State Foundation."
Chadron State has retained a law firm that will work with an external auditing company in a review. Results will be sent to several agencies, including the Nebraska attorney general's office.
Chadron State president Janie Park declined further comment.
