Source: Tulane hires Curtis Johnson
Tulane will introduce its new head coach, New Orleans Saints wide receivers coach Curtis Johnson, at 2 p.m. ET on Monday, a source told ESPN.com's Joe Schad.
Johnson was on the sideline with the Saints on Sunday night for their 31-17 win against the Detroit Lions.
Tulane is hoping Johnson, a New Orleans native who has been with the Saints since 2006, can turn around a program that has not been to a bowl since 2002.
The Green Wave have gone 31-76 since then, never winning more than five games in a season.
In October, coach Bob Toledo resigned with a 15-40 record in four-and-a-half seasons.
Johnson recruited and coached New Orleans natives Marshall Faulk, Ed Reed and Reggie Wayne at both San Diego State and Miami.
Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
