Sentencing set for Art Schlichter

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A federal judge has set a sentencing date for ex-Ohio State and NFL quarterback Art Schlichter in a fraud case stemming from a million-dollar ticket-selling scheme.

The 52-year-old Schlichter was jailed last week after authorities said he violated the conditions of his bond by testing positive for cocaine use while free on house arrest.

U.S. District Court Judge Michael Watson on Wednesday scheduled Schlichter's sentencing for Feb. 7 in Columbus.

Authorities say the former Indianapolis Colts quarterback, whose career was derailed by a gambling addiction, defrauded more than 50 people by promising college football and NFL tickets he never delivered.

Schlichter pleaded guilty in October, but the agreement calling for him to serve about 10 years behind bars still needs the judge's approval.
