Bobby Bowden: FSU should stay put
Former Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden told Sirius XM radio show "College Sports from All Angles with Jack Arute" that the Seminoles should stay in the ACC.
"My message would be stay in the ACC," Bowden told Arute during the show that will air at 9 a.m. ET Sunday. "Do you want to win a national championship at Florida State? You've got a better chance in the ACC than you have in the Big 12, or even the SEC."
SiriusXM provided the transcript to NBCSports.com.
Bowden said Florida State should wait until it's good enough before "thinking about moving to a higher quality football conference."
Bowden coached the Seminoles to a 7-6 record in his last season in 2009, but FSU has finished with 10-4 and 9-4 records in its past two seasons.
