Russell Athletic to sponsor bowl
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Russell Athletic is the new title sponsor for one of Orlando's two annual bowl games.
Formerly named the Champs Sports Bowl from 2004 to 2011, it was announced Tuesday that the Russell Athletic Bowl will assume naming rights for the Dec. 28 matchup of Atlantic Coast Conference and Big East Conference teams.
This is the bowl's eighth different title sponsor since it began in 1990 as the Blockbuster Bowl.
The deal for Russell runs through 2015. The company will also be the exclusive apparel partner for Florida Citrus Sports, which also runs the Capital One Bowl.
Champs Sports will continue its relationship with Florida Citrus Sports as a partner of both the Russell Athletic and Capital One bowl games through 2014.
